ASTM F1306 Slow Rate Penetration Resistance of Flexible Barrier Films and Laminates
ASTM F1306-16 specifies the test conditions for determining the characterization of flexible barrier films and laminates for slow rate penetration resistance to a driven probe at room temperature. The required calculations for this standard consist of peak force to break, energy to break, and probe penetration at the first peak. The ability to characterize penetration resistance is critical for products and applications that depend on certain levels of barrier protection. Suitable systems for testing films and laminates to this standard include the Instron 3300 Series or 5900 Series electromechanical testing machines.
