General purpose extensometer for axial tensile testing of stranded wire requiring a long gauge length device and the ability to measure axial elongation accurately on a specimen that twists when pulled. Removal of the extensometer from the specimen prior to fracture, to avoid damage to the instrument, is strongly recommended. Quick attach kit (included) allows easy one hand mounting on specimen.
